The Accessory Barn - Top Tips for Great Looking Skin!

Finally, summer’s in full swing! We’re already enjoying those trips to the beach and pool parties with friends! Feeling like you need to cover up bad skin? Here are some of our top tips to get your skin looking great in no time at all!

Baking Soda
To fight against blackheads and nasty pimples, use baking soda as a facial scrub. You can also use it all over your body to remove toxins from your skin, to stop irritation after shaving, and to soften hard skin, especially feet! Your skin will glow, and your feet will be sandal ready.

Top tip: You can make your own DIY face peel using two teaspoons of baking soda, one teaspoon of water and a few drops of lemon juice. Mix and apply to your face and peel off once dry.

Aloe Vera
Open up an aloe vera leaf and use the natural substance to soothe your skin, on the face in particular. It helps to combat acne, soothes any sunburn from the summer sun, and gets rid of any toxins left in your skin. It’s a gem for natural skin care!

Salt Scrub
Our skin can get inflamed and full of debris, especially after a workout. Exfoliate with Epsom salts or sea salts by adding a small amount into your cleansing lotion. Apply over your body as desired, and you’ll feel refreshed in no time!

Fun fact: This is why when you spend a day at the beach paddling in the sea, many of us find our skin clears up! Amazing!

Aspirin & Honey
Do you have red, irritated skin? Mix aspirin and honey, as they both do incredible things! While honey acts as a disinfectant to clean up your pores, aspirin reduces swelling, therefore lessening the redness of your skin. Magic!

During summer, we are more likely to get bug bites and itchy rashes. By applying toothpaste to these areas and letting it dry before you go to bed, the toothpaste will work through the night to combat bites, rashes, and acne. You’ll wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and a lot more confident about showing off your skin once you’ve rinsed the toothpaste off!

Work From The Inside Out
Eating a healthy, balanced diet can do wonders for your skin! By adding more fruit and vegetables to your diet and consuming less junk food, you are more likely to have clearer skin as you are taking in lots of vitamins and natural goodness. It will also give you tons more energy if you stick at it long-term. Get ready to say goodbye to your acne and hello to a newer, more energized you!

Love Yourself
No matter what your skin looks like, you need to learn to love it! You can inject a bit of love into your face by giving yourself a quick massage in the morning. You can use your favorite eye cream or moisturizer to help stimulate the circulation in your face and also reduces fine lines.
